One-Day Celebration and Street Closure, June 26

Come celebrate the first days of summer during a one-day event and street closure on Monday, June 26, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Next week, all members of the medical center and neighboring community are invited to enjoy outdoor seating and free ice cream on Haven Avenue between West 169th Street and Fort Washington Avenue. Guests will also be able to visit informational tables to learn more about Velocity, Columbia’s Ride to End Cancer, and the future of the Haven Avenue plaza.

During this celebration, please be advised of these temporary changes to regular operations:

  • Haven Avenue between West 169th Street and Fort Washington Avenue will be closed to nearly all vehicular traffic from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, June 26. However, Neurological Institute patients will still have pick-up and drop-off access to the building by continuing south on Haven Avenue. Signage and traffic personnel will guide patients along the temporary route. An additional drop-off location will be provided at Fort Washington Avenue and 168th Street. Professional traffic management personnel will be available at each pick-up/drop-off station to assist patients and provide wheelchair assistance if needed. If you have questions about this, please contact cumc.facilities@columbia.edu.
  • The ARB parking lot will be temporarily closed from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. that day to accommodate the closure. Alternative parking will be available for registered ARB parkers at the 100 Haven Parking Garage from 6 p.m. on Friday, June 23, through 10 p.m. on Monday, June 26. If you have questions or concerns about the upcoming temporary closure of the ARB parking lot, please contact CUMC Parking at cumc.parking@columbia.edu.
  • Delivery vendors have been notified about this temporary change, but if you are located in the Hammer Health Sciences Center, Allan Rosenfield Building, or Neurological Institute, we encourage you to review your delivery schedules with your vendors. Please direct any inquiries to cumc.facilities@columbia.edu.

If you have questions about these temporary changes, please contact CUMC Facilities Management at 212-305-HELP (4357), option 3, or email cumc.facilities@columbia.edu.
