Melanie Bernitz

Dr. Melanie Bernitz, a 1997 graduate of the University College London Medical School, came to New York City in 1999. She joined Student Health Service in 2003 as a primary care physician after serving as a resident and faculty member in Family Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center. She is currently the Director of the Student Health Service. Her special interests are women’s health and health maintenance, and she is committed to ensuring that the Health Sciences students have direct access to high quality timely medical care. She also participates in medical student teaching as a small group preceptor for the Foundations in Clinical Medicine course. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, while running and training in traditional karate.
