Cooperative Huntington's Observational Research (COHORT) Study
We are seeking volunteers (18 years of age or older) who meet one of the following criteria:
- Individuals who have HD or tested positive for the HD gene.
- Parents, children, and siblings of individuals who have HD or tested positive for the gene.
- Grandparents and Grandchildren of those individuals participating in COHORT who have HD or tested positive for the gene.
- Spouses of those individuals participating in COHORT who have HD or tested positive for the gene.
HD family members who have tested negative for the HD gene may participate if a family member who has HD or has tested positive for the gene is also enrolled in the COHORT Study.
For those under the age of 18, only individuals who have HD are eligible to participate.

2CARE Study
The 2 CARE study is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-control study of the nutritional supplement Coenyzme Q10 in Huntington's disease. We are seeking participants from 16 years old and older with early stage Huntington’s disease. This is a Phase III clinical trial using an FDA approved Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ) to evaluate the effectiveness and long term safety of high dose CoQ in slowing functional decline in Huntington’s disease, and also to examine the long term safety of CoQ.
Participants will be followed for 5 years as “out-patients” at regular intervals (every 6 months after the initial Month 1 and 3 visits following enrollment into the study).
Participants must have a family member or caregiver who can over see the storage and administering of the study medication (study buddy) and who can also attend the screening and baseline visit appointments.
If interested , please contact Ronda Clouse, RN, Study Coordinator at 212-305-2387.
Gait and Balance Impairments in Huntington's Disease
We are seeking subjects with a clinical diagnosis of HD and those at risk for developing the disease. Our study quantifies gait and balance impairments in individuals with Huntington's disease and those at risk of developing the disease. We measure impairments through non-invasive high resolution instruments and correlate these with functional clinical tests of gait and balance.
For more information, please contact the Principal Investigator, Dr. Ashwini K. Rao at 212-305-1647.
DOMINO Study:
DOMINO is a multi-center, double-blind, pilot study of minocycline in Huntington's Disease. We are seeking men and women age 18 or older with mild-to-moderate HD to participate in a Phase II-III study using an FDA approved antibiotic to assess whether this drug warrants further investigation as a possible drug to slow nerve cell loss. Participants must have a family member or caregiver who can attend appointments during the study.
