Academic Activities

image During the academic year classroom instruction in English, Math, and Science is offered on Saturdays from 9 AM to 12 noon.  Course offerings vary from year to year.  Depending on which math and science courses students are studying in school, the program is tailored to meet their academic needs. Students are introduced to current educational science concepts, such as nanoscale materials science and technology.

Grades 7 & 8
English, Math & Science (including lab instruction) based on NYS Standards
All course work designed to increase student understanding & test taking strategy.

Grades 9-12
English, Math A, Math B, Advanced Learning Skills, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Physics and some A.P. courses.

image Computer Technology
Computer instruction is included in all classes through interactive media and informational sources.  In each subject and at each grade level, students are required to use the Internet, word processing, spreadsheets, database programs, presentation software, simulation and instructional software.

Tutoring
STEP is not a remedial program, but tutoring is available after regularly scheduled classes for any student in need of additional assistance.
