The Science & Technology Entry Program (STEP) at the College of Dental Medicine is a New York State grant funded program designed to provide academic enrichment and support to minority and/or economically disadvantaged students in Grades 7 to 12.  The objective of the program is to provide students with the skills necessary for entry into pre-professional degree programs in scientific, technical and health-related fields through hands-on activities with real life implications.

STEP at the College of Dental Medicine is part of the award-winning statewide program, which received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring (PAESMEM) in 2004.
