Alumni Mentoring Program
The Alumni Mentoring Program provides a forum for matriculates and alumni to discuss areas of mutual career interest, and for alumni who want to network for career information and advancement. To make the program a success, representation is needed across all departments, job functions, and degree dates.
Should you decide to participate in the Program, Mailman students and other alumni will have on-line access to your name, employer name and location, title, job function, degree type/date and department and business e-mail address only. The initial contact will be via e-mail. Although your contact with students/other alumni could be as brief as a telephone conversation, the most beneficial form of contact would be a meeting at your place of business or other mutually agreeable venue.
Should you elect to participate in the program, you should expect to share, at a minimum:
- Personal and professional insights into your chosen field of work.
- Reflections on the most and least satisfying aspects of your work.
- Information on professional opportunities (e.g., the career ladder) that exist in your chosen field.
- Comments regarding your education and experiential preparation for your chosen career. Was it adequate? How might you have been better prepared?
- The names of other personal and/or professional contacts who might provide additional insights.
- Additional areas of inquiry might focus on more specific job function, industry and employer information.
To participate, simply complete the on-line Alumni Mentoring Program Survey below.
