The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine mission is to:

• Provide the highest quality patient care to patients experiencing pain or functional loss
• Advance the science and practice of rehabilitation through innovative basic science, translational, and clinical research
• Educate students, trainees, and practitioners in rehabilitation medicine
• Support our faculty and staff in their medical practice and academic efforts and provide an environment conducive to lifelong learning
• Advocate for individuals with disabilities to maximize their participation in society
• Support the missions of Columbia University and New York-Presbyterian Hospital
