Interim Chairman's Message
Welcome to the Department of Radiology at Columbia University Medical Center . The Department provides a full array of diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology and nuclear medicine/PET/CT services utilizing cutting edge technologies. Radiology, including CT, US, MRI, plain films, nuclear medicine, PET, PET/CT and interventional (neuro, body and vascular), is designed so as to deliver clinical imaging services directly to patient care areas located at multiple clinical locations throughout the Medical Center. The Department has an extensive ACGME graduate training program in diagnostic radiology, neuroradiogy, nuclear medicine/ radiology, pediatric radiology, neuroradiology and vascular-interventional radiology as well as non-ACGME training fellowships in thoracic, abdominal musculo-skeletal, body MRI, and neuro-interventional radiology. Visiting preceptorships for medical students and post-graduate trainees are also available. The Department also offers a broad spectrum of research opportunities including: the Morton A. Kreitchman PET Center, a world class facility that provides high quality positron emission tomography (PET) and PET/CT clinical and research facilities; the Program for Imaging and Cognitive Sciences (PICS) Center which houses the Magnetic Resonance Research Laboratories of Columbia University; the Cerebrovascular Center of the Neurological Institute, and the Department also boasts a strong collaborative relationship with Columbia University's Department of Biomedical Engineering.
