Biography

Rashid A. Fawwaz, MD, PhD, is Professor of Clinical Radiology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Fawwaz has extensive experience in the field of tumor imaging and therapy, having authored numerous articles and received several patents in the field. At the University of California, Berkeley, he was involved in the synthesis and imaging of the first positron emitting compound. He is currently actively involved in developing new techniques designed to optimize (PET) imaging.
