Roger A. Maxfield, M.D.

Clinical Professor of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine

 

 

Clinical Interests:

Dr. Maxfield's areas of clinical interest are asthma, COPD, lung cancer, and interventional bronchoscopy including ultrasound guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA), brachytherapy (endobronchial radiotherapy), argon plasma coagulation (non-contact electrocautery), and stent insertion.  He is conducting clinical trials of bronchoscopic lung volume reduction for emphysema and performs evaluations for lung volume reduction surgery.  He also sees patients with asbestos exposure and other occupational lung diseases.  He is a NIOSH certified B-reader for interpreting chest x-rays for pneumoconiosis.
