Learning Experience: Students will work one on one with an attending and nursing staff in the evaluation of new consultations, patients undergoing treatment and those who have completed treatment. Discussion of the current literature and experimental options will be a part of this process.  Students will be frequently charged with reviewing the literature on a topic.  The student will actively participate in the radiotherapy treatment planning process with the attending and treatment planning staff so that she/he can learn about the spectrum of radiotherapeutic techniques available including conventional radiotherapy, 3D conformal radiotherapy, intensity modulated radiotherapy, image guided radiotherapy, stereotactic radiotherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery and brachytherapy. The student will participate in a variety of brachytherapy and stereotactic procedures.  The student will join the attending in the participation in a wide array of conferences and tumor boards. A formal presentation to the department at the conclusion of the rotation is highly encouraged.
