Ion Torrent Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) is now available for service at our core facility.

The Ion Torrent NGS, powered by semiconductor chip technology, delivers the fastest run times of any next-generation

sequencing platform available today.

The Chip is the Machine: three chips are available for multiple applications. Depending on the throughput requirement

of an experiment, researchers are able to choose the 314, the 316 or the 318 sequencing chips.

The Ion PGMSequencer is ideal for sequencing small genomes, sets of genes, or performing gene expression profiling.

Example applications include:

Amplicon Sequencing

AmpliSeq™ Fixed Panels

AmpliSeq™ Custom Panels

Targeted Resequencing

RNA-Seq

Small RNA

Microbial Genome Sequencing

To learn more about Ion Torrent NGS's applications and protocols, join the free Ion Community at:

To use our Ion Torrent NGS service, researchers will need to construct the DNA or RNA library for their sequencing

application. Detailed information of reagent kits and protocols for library construction, and a very informative Decision Tree

for Ion PGM Applications are available on the Ion Community website. Our core lab will QC the library with Bioanalyzer,

prepare templates using the Ion OneTouch system, run sequencing on the Personal Genome Machine (PGM), and analyze

data with the Torrent Suite software.

Send an email to Changhong Qiao at cq19@columbia.edu to discuss your sequencing project and service fee.
