Columbia Psychiatry Columbus Circle

Columbia Psychiatry Columbus Circle (CPCC), a site for treatment through clinical studies, is located in the Newsweek Building at 1775 Broadway between 57th and 58th Street.

Many people benefit enormously from participating in our psychiatric clinical research because they receive evaluation and treatment by world-renowned experts from the Columbia faculty at no cost. Participation in clinical studies offers the further benefits of access to new treatments unavailable elsewhere, and gratification of contributing to the development of new knowledge so desperately needed to improve psychiatric diagnosis and treatment for the future.

Yahoo MapColumbia Psychiatry consists of the professional staff of the New York State Psychiatric Institute and New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. We want to make it more convenient for the public to participate in our studies, particularly for New Yorkers who live or work in midtown. Hours are available before or after work, or during lunch hours. For those who prefer northern Manhattan, we continue to provide research treatment on our main campus in Washington Heights, at 1051 Riverside Drive near 165th Street.

Columbia Psychiatry is at the cutting edge of research into a variety of mental disorders. CPCC currently hosts over a dozen new studies of treatment of adults with major depression, dysthymia (chronic depression), anxiety, opiate addiction, alcoholism, marijuana, and cocaine abuse. All studies provide free treatment, either to compare various treatments with each other, or in an open phase after completion of neurobiological studies of these conditions. If needed, backup hospitalization is provided at the New York State Psychiatric Institute for patients enrolled in studies.

Patients, families, or referring professionals may reach us in several ways. Our website, Columbia University Department of Psychiatry, provides a search engine to find clinical studies. Our intake phone line, 212-305-6001, can help direct callers. Programs at CPCC can also be contacted directly.
