Our program in Pediatric Rheumatology was one of the first programs established in the United States and the first established in the New York City area. It was founded by Dr. Jerry Jacobs in 1960, who wrote the first textbook in Pediatric Rheumatology, which was based on patient experiences at our Center.

Over the last five years, the Pediatric Rheumatology Program has increased in size and now provides care for thousands of children with rheumatic disease. Rheumatology is an integral diagnostic and consultation service for our inpatient, infusion and outpatient services.

All of our academic faculty are nationally recognized clinical experts in the care of children with rheumatic and autoimmune diseases. All of our attendings have run large clinical programs before joining our group. This combined experience is unmatched at any other area program. In addition the Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of New York-Presbyterian is a referral center for other Children's Centers and we have the resources and staff to care for the most complex patients.
