    Students

    Jill Carmody, M.A.

Ms. Carmody is a predoctoral graduate student in the Institute of Human Nutrition. She is working on the development of mouse models for maternal insulin resistance.

    Aliki Kosteli, M.S., M.Phil.

Ms. Kosteli is a pre-doctoral graduate student in the Institute of Human Nutrition. She is working on obesity-induced inflammation.

    John Overton, B.S., M.A., M. Phil.

Mr. Overton is a pre-doctoral graduate student in the Institute of Human Nutrition. He is working on the molecular pathogenesis of obesity in mice. Mechanisms regulating body fat and metabolic disorders related to obesity such as insulin resistance. Molecular physiology of Mahogunin Ring Finger-1 (Mgrn1), which has been linked to melanocortin function in the mouse.

    Stephanie Padilla, M.A.

Ms. Padilla is a predoctoral graduate student in the Institute of Human Nutrition. She is working on project to define lineage markers for functionally distinct neuronal populations in the hypothalamic feeding circuit.

    Yann Ravussin, B.S.

Mr. Ravussin is a predoctoral graduate student in the Integrate Program. He is undertaking studies aimed at understanding molecular changes in skeletal muscle underlying metabolic adaptation that occurs during weight perturbation.

    Nao Wakae, M.S.

Ms. Wakae is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Genetics and Development. Her work is focused on the molecular genetics of pancreatic beta cell proliferation and type 2 diabetes.
