The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Columbia Presbyterian has a long standing tradition of being at the forefront of care and research for children with gastrointestinal diseases. The program is recognized as a major center in the tri-state area for the treatment of digestive and liver disorders including celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, fatty liver disease, and cystic fibrosis. We are the only center in the New York area which performs both liver and small bowel transplantation. Patients are evaluated within our renovated outpatient facility located at Morgan Stanley Children’s hospital but can also be seen at several off site locations such as Summit Valley, NJ, Rockland County, NY, the Upper East Side of Manhattan as well as the Bronx. Our physicians work closely with our skilled nutritional staff for patients with nutritional disorders and are happy to coordinate care with other pediatric subspecialists for children with complex medical disorders. If diagnostic or therapeutic procedures are warranted, the procedures are performed in our modern and child-friendly endoscopy suite which is staffed with experienced pediatric anesthesiologists and pediatric nurses. Our physicians are well trained to perform upper and lower endoscopy, gastrostomy tube placement, capsule endoscopy, liver biopsy and ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography).
