Each year, thousands of young patients benefit from the pioneering clinical and research work of the Division of Pediatric Cardiology. With a distinguished roster of physicians specializing in pediatric cardiovascular disease, we have established a preeminent, and one of the largest, pediatric cardiology centers in the nation. Our cardiologists and interventional cardiologists provide care for a wide range of conditions and diseases that affect newborns, infants, children, adolescents and young adults. These include congenital heart defects, acquired heart disease, cardiomyopathy, heart failure, cardiac transplant, arrhythmias, and pulmonary hypertension.

Our comprehensive program begins with a complete medical history and thorough evaluation to fully understand the scope of a child's heart condition. Among our diagnostic capabilities are cardiac catheterization, arrhythmia studies, exercise testing, and cardiac imaging, including fetal and pediatric echocardiography, and cardiac MRI. Treatment approaches, many of which have been developed and tested by physicians at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital, include interventional cardiac procedures, pediatric arrhythmia management, and a robust electrophysiology program.

We also provide care to adults with congenital heart defects. As techniques for treating congenital heart defects have improved over the years, so has the survival of children with these conditions allowing them to reach adulthood. Since their conditions originated at birth, as adults they are often best managed by a pediatric cardiologist familiar with these types of congenital abnormalities rather than an adult cardiologist.

Our program's seamless integration with the Division of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery ensures that patients who require surgical intervention receive continuity of care throughout their treatment and recovery.

Our highly trained team includes a range of pediatric cardiologists in a number of subspecialties, nurse specialists in cardiology and transplant, genetic counselors, social workers dedicated to pediatric cardiology patients, child psychiatrists, physical therapists, and child life specialists. These outstanding professionals share a commitment to our patients and their families that embraces not only clinical excellence, but also an astute understanding of their emotional and psychological needs.
