New York Presbyterian Hospital offers a tradition of groundbreaking and state-of-the-art pediatric diagnostic and interventional cardiology and pediatric cardiac surgery, as well as innovative medical education and basic clinical research in these areas. The Columbia Cornell Pediatric Cardiovascular Center now combines the outstanding facilities and faculties of Children's Hospital of New York, affiliated with New York Presbyterian Hospital, and the Pediatric Cardiology Program at New York Weill Cornell Center, to establish one of the largest and most preeminent pediatric cardiology and cardiac surgery centers in the nation. As a newly integrated center, we can continue to realize great success in the diagnosis and treatment of congenital and acquired heart disease in neonates, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults.
The center has the only pediatric catheterization laboratories in metropolitan New York dedicated to pediatric pulmonary hypertension and arrhythmia studies, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, such as radiofrequency ablation for cardiac arrhythmias and balloon valvuloplasty. Each year, we perform more than 550 pediatric cardiac surgical procedures and 650 cardiac catheterizations.
Among the programs we are proud of are:
- State of the art interventional cardiac catheterization.
- The area's most prominent pediatric echocardiology program and one
of the most outstanding fetal echocardiography centers in the world.
- A dedicated pediatric arrhythmia management and electrophysiology
program.
- The largest pediatric cardiac transplant and pediatric heart failure
center in the U.S.
- The region's only pediatric pulmonary hypertension center.
- An active preventive cardiology service.
The
Columbia Cornell Pediatric Cardiovascular knows the science and art of caring
for young patients. When you refer parents here for consultation or diagnostic
evaluation of their child's heart, you can be assured that they will be
in the expert hands of a medical team renowned for excellence in pediatric
cardiology and cardiac surgery. We also know that a child's illness involves
the entire family and we are proud of the family centered services we provide
at both our locations: Children's Hospital of New York on Manhattan's West
side and New York Weill Cornell Center on the East Side.
