Programs

Columbia University Programs in Occupational Therapy value the diversity of our students, our profession and the individuals we serve. The program is dedicated to preparing our students to provide effective and accessible occupational therapy services across cultures. This commitment is reflected in our international service learning programs, curricula attention to cultural competence skill development, and support of research and program development opportunities that examine and promote occupational therapy services in cross cultural environments.

Cuba
The Cuba Program is structured as an academic exchange project with El Centro de Rehabilitacion y Neurodesarrollo in Cardenas, Cuba. This program provides occupational therapy students and faculty with opportunities for cultural exchange, cross cultural teaching and research.

Nicaragua
In partnership with Global Health Partners, Columbia University Programs in Occupational Therapy work collaboratively with Los Pipitos, a pediatric rehabilitation program in Managua, Nicaragua, to foster program development, promote staff and faculty skill acquisition and enable the social participation of children with disabilities.
