Francis Y. Lee, M.D., Ph.D.Columbia University’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, founded in 1866 as the New York Orthopaedic Hospital has a long and distinguished record of innovations and advancements. The Center for Orthopaedic Research (COR) holds the keys to future milestones. Under the guidance of Dr. Francis Y. Lee, the COR team advances novel concepts through translational studies that bridge basic science and clinical practice. Biomolecular and biomechanical engineering principles, 3D computer modeling, molecular imaging, in vivo and in vitro studies, and surgical expertise coalesce to foster improved patient outcomes. Funding awards, including grants from the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Defense have helped to validate our mission. The Center for Orthopaedic Research upholds tradition by seeking answers and resolutions that ultimately will impact the diagnosis, treatment, and quality of life for orthopaedic and cancer patients.

The COR lab is thrilled to introduce the Translational Research in Orthopaedics (TRIO) Postdoctoral Research Scholar Program as part of Columbia University’s Department of Orthopaedics Residency Program. Our residency program offers a 6-year residency track with 1 year dedicated to research.
