Program Overview

The Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine provides a full line of Obstetric and Gynecologic

services. This means our physicians are not only trained in obstetrics, gynecology and maternal fetal medicine but are also experts in sonography. Additionally, our ultrasound services are seamlessly integrated with obstetric and gynecologic MRI (magnetic resonance imaging). Having all sonographic and MRI services offered within the Department gives MFM the ability to both provide patients with a more comprehensive diagnosis and perform any therapeutic procedure that may be required, including ultrasound-guided procedures.

Members of our medical team are leaders in the field, not only in the U.S., but also internationally. The Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine is accredited by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. We are committed to providing our patients with the highest level of care through superior expertise, cutting edge technology and adhering to strict Quality Assurance standards.

To enhance accuracy and comprehensiveness of prenatal diagnosis, the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine offers Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) services in conjunction with the fetal specialists in Radiology. MRI is used for second and third trimester evaluation of certain fetal, placental and maternal abnormalities. It is used at our physicians' discretion and may provide additional information to ultrasound analysis for appropriate management and diagnosis of certain conditions.
