Fergal Malone, MD, accomplished in research and in clinical practice, provides all forms of prenatal diagnosis, including chorionic villus sampling (CVS), amniocentesis and fetal cordocentesis at several locations in New York and also in Westchester at the Prenatal Testing Center at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville. In addition to prenatal diagnosis, his training and expertise encompass critical-care obstetrics and the management of multiple pregnancies. Dr. Malone's research in prenatal diagnosis focuses on screening for Down syndrome, targeted fetal ultrasonography and multiple pregnancies. His work has been published in many professional journals. Currently, he is director of perinatal research at the Columbia Perinatal Center and co-principal investigator of the FASTER trial, which is one of the largest research trials in the field of obstetrics ever performed in the United States. During his training, Dr. Malone was awarded numerous honors and, while at Tufts, he served as chief resident and was awarded Resident of the Year.
