The Multiple Birth Center at the Columbia University Medical Center in New York City provides state of the art care for women with a multiple pregnancy. Mary D'Alton, MD, who specializes in the management of twins, triplets, and high-order multiples (quadruplets and above), is the director of the center. Women carrying multiples potentially may have more complicated pregnancies than women carrying a singleton pregnancy. For example, women with twins, triplets, and high-order multiples are at increased risk for preterm labor and delivery. The Multiple Birth Center focuses on providing comprehensive antepartum and postpartum care for women with multiples. In addition, the center specializes in diagnosing and treating a variety of multiple pregnancy problems such as: - Preterm Labor
- Intrauterine growth problems
- Birth defects and genetic syndromes
- Monoamniotic twins
- The Twin-Twin Transfusion Syndrome
- Acardia
- Maternal Complications
Our Services - Consultation/management with Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists
