I recently took a position with a rural community health clinic near Santa Fe, NM which I am really enjoying. I found the position via the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) website—see link below. Clinics like the one I am at give you an opportunity to practice the full range of primary care as well as more than you might typically find working for a physician in private practice. NHSC sites are also eligible for federal loan repayment of $25,000 per year for a two year commitment. It’s paid up front and is non-taxable (that’s $50k knocked off your loan balance right away.) If you sign up for a third year it’s $35,000 tax free payable towards student loans. Following are two links to the website describing the program and listing openings.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

I have created a website with 100% free downloadable publications and forms for new nurse practitioners. NP's can upload and share their materials.
Best part: You do not need to sign-up or pay any fees of any kind.

A group of advanced nurses, and I have recently developed an interactive website directed at improving networking and communication skills of nurse practitioners and other mid-level clinicians. The website will soon encompass a section on job search, interviewing tips, career help, and peer-to-peer interaction.
The expected launch date of the www.thePINGonline.com is June 15, 2009. We also expect to publish a newsletter called /The Quarterly Ping/ by this coming Fall, 2009.
