Columbia University School of Nursing accepts applications for the summer (May) and fall (September) semesters. MS Applicants interested in a full-time program must apply for the summer term. Applicants wishing to apply to the School of Nursing are responsible for submitting a complete application and ensuring that all the supplemental materials are received by the Office of Admissions by the appropriate deadline.
A completed application consists of:
Joint Degree Applicants: Applicants seeking a joint degree with another school are required to complete and meet the admissions requirements set by the other school as well as the School of Nursing. Please contact their Admissions Office for admissions procedures and deadline.
Application, personal statement, resume, and recommendations may all be submitted online. Official GRE and TOEFL scores must be submitted directly from ETS to the Office of Admissions. All other materials such as official transcripts, printed recommendations, copies of licenses and certification must be collected by the applicant and submitted to the Office of Admissions in one envelope. One envelope will ensure that application materials arrive to the Office of Admissions and are processed more efficiently. Applicants are recommended to use a tracking delivery service (FedEX, UPS, DHL, and Priority USPS) to track that your envelope has arrived by the appropriate deadline. Once the package has arrived, please allow the Office of Admissions 2-4 weeks to contact you regarding your application process.

The application fee is non-refundable. Applicants are responsible to complete the application by the deadline to be reviewed. Application fee waivers are reviewed on a case by case basis. Applicants must make a request at least a month prior to the deadline and submit documentation of financial constraints to the Admissions Office. Please complete the form (Application Fee Waiver Form) and submit it via e-mail to nursing@columbia.edu with Application Fee Waiver in the subject line. We will waive the fee for veterans, as well as, AmeriCorps and Peace Corps members. Simply complete the form and provide supporting documentation of your service.
