Professor of Biomedical Informatics

Research Summary

Program of research is at the intersection of informatics, evidence-based nursing practice, and underserved populations. Primary interests include decision support systems, mobile computing, natural language processing, and use of web-based approaches for interactive health communication in underserved populations.

Service Interests

Current research projects involve the use of informatics tools for a variety of purposes including natural language processing of nursing narratives, interactive health communication, data mining, patient safety, meeting clinicians’ information needs, and decision support.
