Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery provides comprehensive treatment for blood vessel disorders of the brain and spine. Hemorrhagic stroke, caused by bleeding aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), is treated using state-of-the-art microsurgical and endovascular techniques. Stroke prevention is treatment of vascular disease before neurological damage has occurred. Revascularization of carotid stenosis, blood vessel narrowing due to atherosclerosis, using endarterectomy or stent-angioplasty prevents loss of brain blood flow to prevent ischemic stroke. Aneurysms, AVMs, or dural arteriovenous fistulas can be blocked or removed to prevent life-threatening bleeding.
