Third Year



BGU MSIH Medical School for International HealthDuring the third year, the basic clerkship rotations are offered at the Soroka University Medical Center in Beer-Sheva as well as in other Israeli hospitals including Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon.

A workshop designed to teach cross-cultural skills is offered before rotations. The goal of this workshop is for students to develop the kinds of communication skills needed to treat patients from other cultures.

Soroka Medical Center (seen at left) is the largest medical center in southern Israel, and the fourth largest with approximately 1000 beds.  It serves the diverse ethnic communities in the Negev, such as the nomadic Bedouin, and is affiliated with Ben-Gurion University of the Negev's Faculty of Health Sciences, which is located across the street from the facility.
