PHYSICIAN SUMMARY
Jasmine Zain is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the department of Medical Oncology at Columbia University and the New York Presbytarian Hospital and a member of the Lymphoma service at the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center. She has a strong clinical interest in lymphomas with a particular emphasis on T-cell lymphomas and lymphomas of the skin. Her clinical and research focus is in the development of novel therapies for hematological malignancies.

Dr. Zain completed her internship residency at North Shore Hospital of Forest Hills where she also served as Chief Resident. She did her Hematology and Oncology fellowship at New York University Medical Center and worked in the laboratory of Dr. Simon Karpatkin. Prior to joining Columbia University, she was a Staff Physician at City of Hope National Medical Center in the department of Hematology and Hematopoeitic stem cell transplantation for over 5 years and has extensive experience in the treatment and care of patients with hematological malignancies including stem cell transplantation. Her clinical focus is in T-cell lymphomas and Cutaneous Lymphomas and her research interest is in the development of novel therapies for these diseases. As a clinical investigator she has carried out several clinical trials for patients with hematological malignancies with a particular emphasis on Epigenetic therapy and Histone Deacetylase Inhibitors. To date her work with several of these agents is likely to lead to FDA approval for the treatment of low grade and Cutaneous Lymphomas.

Dr. Zain is a member of several professional societies including the American Association of Cancer Research (AACR), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), American Society of Hematology (ASH) and the International Society of Cutaneous Lymphomas (ISCL). She has published the results of her research in prestigious journals including Blood and JCO. She has also presented her work in international and national meetings and has been recognized as an expert on CTCL by the Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation. She has been invited to lecture on topics of Lymphoma and Cutaneous Lymphoma by several institutions around the country.
