PHYSICIAN SUMMARY
Robert DeBellis, M.D. is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine and has been on the faculty at the New York Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia University Medical Center since 1961. He has practiced general oncology and hematology in the past and is now concentrating mainly on breast cancer, lymphomas, and chronic leukemia. He has been doing general internal medicine as well.

Dr. DeBellis’s initial interests were in basic nucleic acid molecular biology for the first ten years of his faculty appointment. More recently, clinical research has been devoted toward laboratory studies in sickle cell anemia and those studies will be expanded in the near future, extending the findings in the management of patients with sickle cell anemia.
