Services: The Institute for Community Living (ICL) enables hundreds of adults who live
alone, with roommates, or with their families to maintain as independent a lifestyle as
possible. ICL’s case management staff works with consumers in these programs to
personalize the level of support they need. While all supportive apartments serve adults
with mental illness, many are designed to accommodate individuals having particular needs
(e.g. children, histories of substance abuse, and homelessness). Case managers visit the
apartments on a regular basis to assist consumers in evaluating how they are adapting to
the community and develop service plans collaboratively with them. Case managers are
on-call around the clock.
