    Services: The Central Harlem Home Attendant Program is a city owned agency that offers home care services to seniors and disabled community residents. Home based nurses ensure that patients take their medication adequately and that they do not miss doctor’s appointments.

    Services: Isabella Geriatric Center was founded in 1875 as a residence for 20 elderly women. Over the years, it has grown to serve thousands of New Yorkers, from frail elderly to independent older adults to other community residents of all ages. Through nearly a dozen programs, Isabella provides long-term care, independent senior housing, adult day health care and home health care. For the younger members of the community, the Center offers college scholarships, career training, and childcare.

    Services: The goal of the Jewish Community Council is to help the elderly in prolonging independent functioning, maintaining a satisfactory quality of life, preventing exploitation and abuse by providers as well as avoiding costly debilitating institutionalization by advocating for their entitlements and services, meeting their basic needs, accessing medical and other vital services, assisting them with shopping and escorting, and prevention of possible exploitation and abuse by providers by monitoring their physical and mental conditions in order to respond promptly to changing needs and emergencies.

    Services: Senior Helping Seniors (S.H.S.) works to make the lives and circumstances of low income elderly people in Northern Manhattan safer and more comfortable. S.H.S. provides case management assistance and referral, as well as volunteer services to elderly people. S.H.S. also helps the elderly gain access to needed benefits and services, from both the government and private sources. As time permits, S.H.S. representatives work to improve and make more accessible the programs and services needed by elderly.

Seniors also receive assistance with landlord tenant problems and other housing issues. The program also helps seniors who are victims of elder abuse and neglect.
