The Manhattan Borough President's office responds to the needs of more than three million people who work, shop, and do business in the borough every day by protecting and promoting a diverse and stable economy that broadly benefits people in the community. In addition, the office is responsible for the careful review of all major public and private land use proposals in the borough. The northern Manhattan office specifically focuses on expanding economic development and improving city services in the area. The office is also essential in assisting residents to navigate the complicated channels of government bureaucracy to obtain assistance and information.
