The Winter Depression Program offers non-pharmacological research treatment for alleviation of symptoms associated with depressed mood that recurs annually in fall or winter. Pending review of an application, participants receive an initial screening interview by telephone to determine whether he or she would be likely to benefit from experimental treatments and could meet the scheduling requirements of the study. Once entered into the study, participants receive home treatment under expert clinical supervision and loan of an ion-generating or light therapy apparatus for use at home.
