    The Comprehensive Epilepsy Center works closely with various community and voluntary agencies and services, including the Epilepsy Society of New York City, local affiliates of the Epilepsy Foundation of America, community physicians, and other hospitals to provide optimal treatment and appropriate comprehensive services for patients with uncontrolled seizures.

    The Eleanor and Lou Gehrig MDA/ALS Research Center offers a clinical research program that features a multi-disciplinary team of neurologists, research scientists, pulmonologists, research clinicians, speech and other rehabilitation therapists. Comprehensive diagnostic and clinical management, clinical trials, supportive and educational services are offered through the Research Center, as well as assistance with referral services. The Eleanor and Lou Gehrig MDA/ALS Research Center evaluates approximately 250 patients annually and the clinical information is incorporated into a comprehensive database. Support and patient education groups for patients and care givers meet monthly. An ALS newsletter is published every other month and distributed throughout the world.

    The Northern Manhattan Stroke Club is the only bilingual stroke club in New York City. The club serves all English and Spanish stroke survivors and caregivers from the northern Manhattan area. The Northern Manhattan Stroke Club supplies its members with new medical information and provides an opportunity for emotional support for stroke survivors and caregivers.

    The Northern Manhattan Stroke Study (NOMASS) is an epidemiological study focusing on risk factors associated with strokes in the ethnically diverse northern Manhattan population. Both stroke patients and stroke-free individuals are enrolled for a period of five years during which time they are administered neurological examinations, quality of life surveys, and full stroke assessments.

    The Parkinson's Disease Foundation is a national not-for-profit organization chartered in the state of New York with offices in New York City and Chicago. The Parkinson's Disease Foundation is dedicated to supporting and promoting the highest quality research world-wide into the causes and cure of Parkinson’s disease and for better symptomatic treatments. The Foundation's dual purpose is a liaison among the lay community, those with Parkinson's disease, and physician/scientist, their support teams. Services include referrals to support groups and clinical neurologists specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson's disease symptoms in addition to referrals to a wide variety of not-for-profit and for-profit resources available nationwide.

    The STOP-Stroke: Targets of Prevention program is a Washington Heights/Inwood community-based stroke prevention and education program. The aim of the program is to emphasize that strokes are preventable through education and early identification of stroke risk factors. The STOP-Stroke: Targets of Prevention program organizes and is a participant of community health fairs, lectures, and educates the community via mass media.
