The Mannie L. Wilson Primary Care Facility provides comprehensive medical and dental
services to elderly and their families in central Harlem. Dental services include dental
exams, preventive services, and basic dental services such as restorations and dentures.
Medical services include internal medicine, podiatry, psychiatry, cardiology, surgery,
and rheumatology. In addition to diagnosis and treatment, the staff also provides health
promotion and disease prevention programs, smoking cessation programs, and health education.
All programs are managed by two full-time on site faculty members, one dental and the other
medical, who have operational responsibility for the provision of services with their
associated teams. Oral health staff includes dentists,dental hygienists, and dental
specialists. Internists, a physician assistant, a specialist where appropriate, and
registered nurses provide primary care services. A fulltime social worker is also part of
the comprehensive care team.
