The DentCare program offers screening to intermediate and high school students through a partnership among Columbia University's School of Dental and Oral Surgery, Harlem Hospital Center Department of Dentistry, Heilbrunn Center for Population and Family Health of the Mailman School of Public Health, and community-based organizations. Prevention services including examination, education, treatment, and teeth sealants, a protective covering for teeth, are offered to all participating students. Scaling is provided as necessary. Referrals are made for more comprehensive services.
