  The Physician Referral Service is a joint initiative between Columbia University and New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Through the service, trained counselors handle inquiries about physicians as well as community and health education programs. Callers are provided with background information about several health care providers including the specialty they require, education, age, sex, location, coverage, and area of sub-specialty.
