DESCRIPTION: In partnership with students from Gregorio Luperon High School, students worked on research projects

DESCRIPTION: The goal is reduce health disparities to underserved urban populations through the development of future faculty who will work with vulnerable populations. Representatives from the Washington Heights neighborhood serve on the Advisory Board.

PROGRAM NAME: Hip Hop Stroke & Central Harlem Health Revival
DESCRIPTION: A hypertension screening/education initiative that involves service to the residents of Central Harlem using a community-based action research strategy located at Harlem Hospital.

PROGRAM NAME: CoSMO Advisory Board (Columbia Students Medical Outreach)
DESCRIPTION: Faculty service to CoSMO Advisory Board, a free clinic located in Washington Heights that utilizes nursing students in formulating Spanish language patient questionnaires and other health related educational materials.

DESCRIPTION: Nurse Anesthesia students spend 40 hours per week over a 2 month rotation providing direct care CH 1,000 Patients, WH 700 Patients a yr.nwood 1,000 patients a year

Role includes the coordination of student volunteers to provide age appropriate health education including curricular development, preparation of bilingual written materials and presentations to the children.
