What is a Laser?
Laser stands for Light Amplification by the Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Lasers work by producing an intense beam of bright light that travels in one direction. The laser beam can cut, seal or vaporize skin tissue and blood vessels. The laser has the unique ability to produce one specific color (wavelength) of light that can be varied in its intensity and pulse duration.
At the Skin and Laser Center we have numerous lasers to treat a number of conditions.  Lasers are used for hair and tattoo removal, skin rejuvenation, wrinkle reduction, broken blood vessels and vein therapy, brown spot removal and acne therapy.
Consultations with a dermatologist are required prior to any laser treatment to discuss what laser is best suited for a patient’s desired results.

Fraxel Laser
The Laser Fraxel Treatment is a safe, non-invasive procedure that allows you to rediscover the fresh, healthy skin of your youth by affecting only a fraction of your skin at a time with thousands of tiny microscopic laser spots. The Fraxel Laser improves texture tone and pore size, erases unwanted brown spots, smoothes wrinkles around the eyes and acne scars and rejuvenates your neck, chest and hands all with minimal downtime.

Quantum SR Intense Pulse Light (IPL)
IPL Technology improves the appearance of photoaged skin, removes age spots (sun-induced freckles), most benign brown pigments, rosacea, redness caused by broken capillaries and spider veins and gives the skin a smoother, more even tone through a process called Photorejuvenation for face and body. IPL Skin Treatments help restore a more youthful and luminous appearance without patient downtime.

Light Sheer Diode XC
The Light Sheer Diode XC laser is primarily for hair removal.  Backed by long-term clinical data, the LightSheer system has the ability to permanently reduce hair growth and treat the entire range of skin colors and hair types, satisfying hundreds of thousands of patients worldwide.

ND: Yag Laser
The ND: Yag Laser is primarily used for treatment of broken blood vessels, hemangiomas and leg veins.  The laser technology provides multiple synchronized pulsing to selectively heat blood vessels of different sizes and depths and accurate targeting of vessels anywhere on the body.

VersaPulse® Aesthetic Laser
The VersaPulse® Aesthetic Laser is used to treat pigmented and vascular lesions of the skin.  These include spider veins, telangiectasias, lentigos or sunspots.  The VersaPulse Laser produces short, adjustable pulses of light to treat a wide range of vessel diameters at various skin depths.  The adjustable pulses minimize the risk of bruising that is a side effect of other lasers.  Additionally the laser is used to remove tattoos by producing a wide range of light colors to treat the full spectrum of tattoo ink.
