Physician Compliance Education Program

A Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) sponsored training program for physicians, residents and billing staff will be presented on September 22, 1999. The program is a 21/2 hour program that introduces physicians to the Medicare Program.

Objectives of the program include:

  • Understand the intent and benefits of the Medicare program;
  • Implement compliance protections;
  • Improve success in enrollment and claims process;
  • Enhance medical documentation.

While the primary targeted audience is resident physicians, any health care professional including attending physicians, new Medicare providers, or any other individual who may require a review of the Medicare program will benefit from the program.

The University Billing Compliance Plan requires an ongoing training program for faculty, house staff and individuals involved in professional fee billing.
