Mary Egan, B.S.N., is the Program Coordinator for the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory of the Center for Interventional Vascular Therapy at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/ Columbia University Medical Center. In this role, Ms. Egan is responsible for unit-based structure standards, RN orientation programs, and continuing education for nurses.
Prior to joining NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Ms. Egan was a consultant at Long Island College Hospital, where she designed and implemented a primary angioplasty program. She has also held positions in the catheterization and electrophysiology labs of in Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center and South Nassau Community Hospital. She was nurse manager for the cardiac cath lab at St. John's Queens Hospital, playing a key role in its start-up. She was also manager of the cardiac cath lab at Lenox Hill Hospital, overseeing the growth of the program from 2,000 cases annually to over 6,500 cases per year.
Ms. Egan brings two decades of cardiology experience to her position at the Center for Interventional Vascular Therapy. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of the State of New York and is currently pursuing her Master ?Äôs degree in health administration at Hofstra University.
