A Commitment to Education

The Center for Interventional Vascular Therapy (CIVT) is part of an academic medical center committed to physician training and continuing medical education. The cardiovascular subspecialty residency and fellowship training programs of New York-Presbyterian/Columbia are among the most highly sought after in the country, with programs that offer a broad range of training opportunities in a stimulating learning environment comprising clinical practice and research.

The Center for Interventional Vascular Therapy (CIVT) also enriches the professional community through educational outreach efforts managed by the Cardiovascular Research Foundation. These efforts include the annual Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (www.tct2006.com) symposium – the largest symposium in interventional vascular medicine in the world, and 60 educational events annually.

While working with the Cardiovascular Health Education Center (CHEC), the Center for Interventional Vascular Therapy strives to educate the more than 9,000 patients who come through New York Presbyterian / Columbia University Medical Center with cardiovascular disease every year.
