Art Department

Graphic artists and medical illustrators in the Art Division offer full artistic and production support for medical illustration, custom art work, desk-top publishing, computer slide generation, and poster displays. Our des igners and illustrators can produce printed material ranging from simple one-color flyers and newsletters to elaborate four-color brochures and posters. Additionally, information from slides or printed material can be scanned into the computer for correc tions, additions, or incorporation into other media projects. Our artists have studied scientific notation, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and can assist clients in devel-oping visually attractive and scientifically accurate representation al materials.

Medical Illustration

The Medical Illustration Division includes experienced and nationally-known illustrators whose work has appeared in the medical literature, textbooks, and the lay press. They combine artistic ability with anatomical and physiological knowl edge to help clients develop art work that conveys complex medical and scientific information. Using such artistic devices as manipulation of angle of view, phantoming, cross-sections, and exaggerated scale, the artists can summarize surgical procedures, cellular or molecular structures, or physiological processes. Illustration is done in a variet y of art media including airbrush, pen and ink, watercolor, color pencil, and computer-generated imaging.

Desktop Publishing

The Graphics Division offers design, lay-out, and production support for computerized publication of such materials as newsletters, invitations, brochures, conference programs, and books. Our graphic artists will recommend design approach es for maximal readability and effectiveness of printed material. One- to four-color laser printing is available in-house on a variety of MacIntosh-based and DOS-based programs.

Computer-generated Slide Production

Staff members in the Graphics Division work with clients to design graphs, tables, charts, and word slides that convey information quickly and accurately. Working with the latest slide-making software, our graphic artists will transform r aw data into professional slides for projection. Clients may bring their own disks with data formatted according to our specifications, or they can work with our graphics staff to design the visual displays.

Poster Sessions Our graphic artists work with clients to produce legible and informative posters for conferences and conventions. We are experienced at producing the standard 11x14 inch displays with word summaries, charts, and headings as well as any custom sizes.
