Columbia University is home to one of the largest and most advanced cardiovascular ultrasound programs in the world, and the largest such program in the Northeast. Every year, we conduct perform more than 32,000 detailed imaging studies of heart and vascular function in our patients.

The associate director of the program is Marco Di Tullio, M.D., Professor of Medicine. He has been the principal investigator for four leading studies on cardioembolic stroke, and a co-investigators in many more.
Our faculty comprises a dozen physicians, along with more than 20 sonographers, highly trained nurses, and support staff, as well as two physicians who are pursuing advanced clinical fellowships in echocardiography. Each of these specialists has a unique expertise in a particular discipline within echocardiography and vascular ultrasound, such as valve disease, peripheral vascular studies, or hypertension, and behavioral medicine.
