Constance Park, MD, PhD is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine, Columbia University, College of Physician and Surgeons. She is a physician-investigator certified in internal medicine and endocrinology, with a PhD in Biophysics. She is involved in curriculum development for P&S medical students in the broader dimensions of health care and healing, including in the areas of bioethics, patient physician relationship, and medical economics. She helped develop the interdisciplinary Clinical Practice curriculum as part of the Robert Wood Johnson award "Training Physicians for the 21st Century" and now directs its component for 4th year students. As Career Development and Education Director for the Rosenthal Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM), she is developing CAM curricula for our medical school and others, while pursuing research interests using a wide range of tools (from fMRI to ethnographic interviewing) to study CAM therapies for pain management, the placebo effect, and the autonomic nervous system and health. She consults on ethical issues in research at the FMRI Center, where she is a faculty associate.
