Ruth Macklin, PhD, is Professor of Bioethics in the Department of Epidemiology and Social Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her work focuses on ethics in research involving human subjects with a special interest in international collaborative research conducted in developing countries. Other areas of interest are HIV/AIDS and reproductive health, access to treatment, public health, assisted reproduction, research involving embryos and stem cells, and gene transfer research.
