Andre Ivanoff, PhD, is Associate Professor of Social Work in the Columbia University School of Social Work and Chair of the Institutional Review Board, Morningside Campus. Her area of interests include mental health and coping in extreme circumstances, criminal justice, suicidal behaviors, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Current areas of research include attrition and dropout in PTSD treatment outcome literature, social work trainee and supervisor response to crisis: The WTC disaster, adaptation and evaluation of Dialectical Behavior Therapy in correctional, forensic, and public inpatient settings, and suicidal behaviors in correctional and forensic settings. Dr. Ivanoff has been consulting and in private practice (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) since 1995. She has provided clinical and research services in a variety of settings including Seattle Emergency Housing Service, the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington Medical Center, and the New York City Police Department. Dr. Ivanoff has provided consultation on suicidal behaviors to inpatient and correctional facilities in New York, Colorado, Hong Kong, California, Texas, and Ontario. She has also presented to the Association for the Advancement of Behavior Therapy conference and the New York State Office of Mental Health Research conference.
