Andrew R. Davidson, PhD, MBA is professor and executive vice dean of Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. A member of the faculty at Columbia since 1984, Dr. Davidson’s applied research addresses questions concerning reproductive health, and his theoretical interest focuses on variables that moderate the attitude-behavior relation. With a special interest in the acceptability and use of new and long acting contraceptive methods, he has published extensively on the determinants and consequences of contraceptive and fertility decision making.  Dr. Davidson is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and a member of the Board of Directors of the Contraception Foundation. He was an adviser to the World Health Organization Program in Human Reproduction, and a member of the Social Sciences and Population Study Section, National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. Dr. Davidson has served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology; Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology; Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin; and Population and Environment, and has chaired an IRB at the Columbia University Medical Center.
