LASER SAFETY COMMITTEE

Approved by Executive Committee of Medical Board as a Standing Committee on February 4, 1987.

STATEMENT OF CHARGE TO COMMITTEE:

1. Formulation of policy and procedures for the safe use of lasers in our medical community.

2. Develop criteria for credentialing users of equipment and assist Directors of Service in the preparation of certification standards.

3. The Committee is comprised of physicians, nurse administrator(s), technical persons having basic knowledge of lasers and medical laser systems.

4. The Committee approves all laser facilities.

5. Meets bimonthly.

6. Reports annually to Medical Board.
